I am a researcher in public policy and urban studies, currently pursuing my Ph.D. at the School of International Relations and Politics, Mahatma Gandhi University. My academic journey and professional engagements are closely anchored in understanding Indian cities as lived, political, and ecological spaces. With a postgraduate specialization in Public Policy and Governance, I work at the Centre for Urban Studies, where I currently serve as Research Associate, having previously worked with the Centre as a Student Researcher and later as Research Assistant. Across these roles, my work has consistently engaged with questions of urban ecological planning, decentralization, sustainability, and the everyday politics of development.
My doctoral research, titled “Reconceptualising Urban Ecology in Kochi: A Grounded Approach to Sustainability, Livelihood and Urban Ecological Planning,” reflects my long-term engagement with questions of environment, infrastructure, and governance in rapidly transforming urban regions. I have contributed to policy-oriented initiatives, including serving as a member of the drafting committee for the Culture Policy of the Kochi Municipal Corporation, where I worked at the intersection of culture, sustainability, and local governance. My work also engages with themes such as canal restoration, climate resilience, and alternative mobility systems including the Kochi Water Metro.
